Changing Your Email

Your email address serves as a crucial link between you and your Rem account. It's used for logging in, receiving important notifications, and ensuring you stay connected. However, there might be times when you need to update this email address.

Perhaps you've switched to a new email provider, or you just want to use a different email for financial communications. Whatever the reason, we've made the process simple and secure.

Why might you want to change your email?

  1. New Primary Email: Over time, you may shift to using a new primary email address for personal or professional reasons.
  2. Security Concerns: If you suspect your current email has been compromised, changing it can add an extra layer of protection.
  3. Organizational Purposes: Some users prefer to have a dedicated email for financial dealings.

Steps to change your email

If you'd like to make security changes to your account, here's how to change your password from inside the app:

  1. Open Rem App and Login: Launch the Rem app and sign in using your current password.
  2. Navigate to Security: Once logged in, tap on the 'Account' button, then select 'Security'.
  3. Access Email: Inside the security menu, there will be an option titled 'Email'. Tap on the pen icon beside it.
  4. Security Verification: Depending on your default security option (PIN, passcode, fingerprint, face ID), you will need to confirm your security option.
  5. Set New Email: Once you verify your security option, you'll be directed to set a new email. Enter your new email.
  6. Verification Code: Check your new email for a verification code sent by Rem.
  7. Enter Code and Confirm: Enter the security code received in your new email and confirm to save the changes.

How to switch from your social account to email and password

  1. If you’re logged in, go to Account -> Security -> Password, and then tap on 'Forgot password' to receive a code in the email associated with your social login.
  2. Enter the code and set a new password. Now you can login with the email associated with your social account and a password.
  3. Then now follow steps 2 -> 7 under 'Steps to change your email' above to set a new email.

Important reminders

  1. Always ensure you have access to the email address you're linking to your Rem account.
  2. Make sure to check the spam or junk folder if you don't receive the verification email.
  3. Avoid using temporary or disposable email addresses for important accounts like Rem.

Once you've successfully updated your email, all future notifications and communications from Rem will be sent to your new address. It's crucial to always keep your contact details up to date, ensuring you never miss out on essential updates or security alerts
