Resetting Your Password

If you ever forget it or simply want to update it for security reasons, here's how you can easily reset your Rem password:

Why might you need to reset your password?

  1. Security Updates: Regularly updating your password is a best practice in the digital world to ensure ongoing account security.
  2. Suspicious Activity: If you notice any unfamiliar activity on your account, it's advisable to change your password immediately.
  3. Forgot Password: It happens to the best of us! If you can't recall your password, a reset is necessary to regain access.

Steps to reset your password from the login page

If you're logged out and can't remember your password, you'll need to reset it. Here's how:

  1. Login With Email: If you're not already logged in, you'll see the login page. Tap the 'Login with Email' button. Enter the email associated with your account and below the password input field, tap on the 'Forgot Password?' link.
  2. Choose Recovery Method: If your entered email is recognized by Rem, you'll be given the option to choose to recover by a mobile number, if you have one linked to your account, or by your default email. Choose one to confirm.
  3. Verification Code: Check your email or SMS inbox for a verification code sent by Rem. This code ensures it's truly you requesting the password reset.
  4. Set New Password: Once you input the verification code, you'll be directed to set a new password. For optimum security, choose a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
  5. Confirm and Save: Retype your new password to confirm it, and then save the changes.

Steps to change your password from inside the app

If you'd like to make security changes to your account, here's how to change your password from inside the app:

  1. Open Rem App and Login: Launch the Rem app and sign in using your current password.
  2. Navigate to Security: Once logged in, tap on the 'Account' button, then select 'Security'.
  3. Access Password: Inside the security menu, there will be an option titled 'Password'. Tap on the pen icon beside it..
  4. Set New Password: For security purposes, you'll be asked to enter your current password. Then input your new desired password. Remember to use a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
  5. Confirm and Save: Retype your new password to confirm it, and then save the changes.

Important points to note

  1. Do not share your password with anyone.
  2. Avoid using easily guessable passwords like '123456' or 'password'.
  3. If you suspect someone knows your password, change it immediately and contact our support team.

I signed up using a social login

If you signed up to Rem using Google or your Apple ID, you’ll need to set a PIN or biometric for confirming activity (like sending money from your balances).

If you don’t want to use your social login anymore, you can switch to using an email and password instead. If you’re logged in, go to Account -> Security -> Password, and then tap on 'Forgot password' to receive a code in the email associated with your social login. Enter the code and set a new password. Now you can login with an email and password.
